Top Rapper Lil Wayne is set to plead to 8 months in jail for alleged involvement with a 40 caliber gun found on his tour bus in 2007 while in New York.
Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in the second degree this morning in a New York courtroom and is looking to face up to a year in jail.
On July 22, 2007, Lil Wayne was arrested in New York City following a performance at the Beacon Theatre; the New York City Police Department discovered Lil Wayne and another man smoking marijuana near a tour bus. After taking Lil Wayne into custody, police discovered a pistol on his person, and he was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and marijuana.
Lil Wayne pleaded not guilty at first, but changed his mind when they found out DNA evidence would be used. He saved himself a maximum of about three and a half years by changing his plea.
These charges go all the way back to July 2007 when police found a handgun stashed in Lil Wayne's tour bus in a Louis Vuitton bag. Hiding his weapons in style we see?
