And as of sunrise Wednesday, it was also no longer a secret to American baseball fans. Steve Phillips’ story with Brooke Hundley is unlike other major media reported affair of 2009 - allegations of stalking Phillips’ son on Facebook and AOL.com, allegations of phone stalking Phillips’ wife Marni with a casted phone caller from Craigslist.
When finally over two dozen pictures of Brooke Hundley came out, people began to question why Phillips was cheating? Why did Phillips specifically cheat with Hundley? That question may never be answered. Steve Phillips is not explaining either, issuing a statement about his affair with the ESPN production member as simply: “I am deeply sorry that I have put my family and colleagues through this. It is a personal matter that I will not comment on further.”
ESPN analyst Steve Phillips had a fling with a 22-year-old production assistant, who, after being dumped, taunted his wife with "Fatal Attraction"-like phone calls and a letter that bragged about her sexcapades with Phillips while taking pot shots at their "loveless marriage," The Post has learned.
Phillips - who admitted having multiple affairs with women while working for the Mets - is now being sued for divorce by his 40-year-old wife, the mother of his four sons. Two months ago, Phillips deeded the family's five-bedroom, multimillion-dollar Wilton home to her.
"I have extreme concerns about the health and safety of my kids and myself," Steve Phillips said in a police statement, adding that the woman became "obsessive and delusional" after he dumped her.
"Hundley crashed her car into Phillips' home after dropping off the letter; she may have impersonated a 16-year-old to chat with Phillips' son online; Marni Phillips has since filed for divorce."
“I am extremely sorry that I have put my family and colleagues through this”, Steve Phillips said in a statement. “It is a private issue that I will not comment on further. I have still asked for a leave of absence to address this with my family and to stay away from any unnecessary disturbance during the balance of the baseball playoffs”.
